I understand that facing the end of life can be a deeply emotional and challenging time for individuals and families alike. My mission is to honour your unique needs, values, and beliefs, ensuring that you and your loved ones feel heard, respected, comforted, supported and empowered, to navigate your own journey confidently and calmly.

More about Kate
Beyond her professional qualifications, Kate’s life is enriched by her roles as a friend, volunteer, lifelong learner, and avid lover of film, music, plants, and books. She finds joy in embroidery, public speaking, camping, and spending time at beaches and lakes. Once a bush care and Landcare volunteer and community choir singer, she continues to bring these nurturing and creative qualities to her work.
Kate is also a fundraiser for Dementia Australia and has personal experience as a carer, which deepens her empathy and understanding of the challenges her clients may face.
A passionate advocate for open conversations about living, dying, and death, Kate facilitates Death Café events, fostering frank, no-holds-barred discussions in community settings. Her Death Café profile is available here. She offers informal yet profound discussions over beverages and cake in libraries, following Death Café guidelines, creating spaces where people can connect and explore these important topics.

Acknowledgement of Country
In the spirit of reconciliation, Kate Leotta from Swan Song Journey acknowledges First Nations People, the Traditional Custodians of the lands in South East Qld (and beyond) on which I live and work. I honour their deep, enduring connections to land, sea, and community.
From my heart, I pay my respects to Elders past, present, and emerging, and to all the families who hold the stories, wisdom, and strength of culture—Grandparents, Mums and Dads, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and Kin. I recognise and stand in solidarity with Brotherboys, Sistergirls, and all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and the FPDN within First Nations cultures.
Sovereignty was never ceded—this always was, and always will be, First Nations People's land.
