Beyond her professional qualifications, Kate’s life is enriched by her roles as a friend, volunteer, lifelong learner, and avid lover of film, music, plants, and books. She finds joy in embroidery, public speaking, camping, and spending time at beaches and lakes. Once a bush care and Landcare volunteer and community choir singer, she continues to bring these nurturing and creative qualities to her work.

Kate is also a fundraiser for Dementia Australia and has personal experience as a carer, which deepens her empathy and understanding of the challenges her clients may face.

A passionate advocate for open conversations about living, dying, and death, Kate facilitates Death Café events, fostering frank, no-holds-barred discussions in community settings. She offers informal yet profound discussions over beverages and cake in libraries, following Death Café guidelines, creating spaces where people can connect and explore these important topics.
